Michelin Restaurants in São Paulo: Evvai, Tuju and a Food Weekend Guide

For a Michelin restaurant trip to São Paulo, start with the kind of meal you want. Evvai explores the meeting of Italian and Brazilian cooking; Tuju builds its tasting menus around seasonal Brazilian produce; D.O.M. puts the country’s ingredients at the center of an adventurous meal. Jiquitaia offers a different, Bib Gourmand route through Brazilian cooking when you want to balance a special dinner with a less elaborate outing.
Checked October 27, 2026. Evvai and Tuju received three Michelin stars in the 2026 selection, while D.O.M. retained two. This is a focused comparison for planning a visit, not a complete inventory of São Paulo’s Michelin restaurants.
São Paulo Michelin dining: a quick comparison
| Restaurant | 2026 distinction | Dining focus | Address listed by Michelin |

| D.O.M. | Two stars | Brazilian ingredients and creative cooking | Rua Barão de Capanema 549 |
| Jiquitaia | Bib Gourmand | Brazilian home-style cooking | Rua Coronel Oscar Porto 808 |
Evvai vs Tuju: which three-star restaurant fits your trip?
Evvai’s chef Luiz Filipe Souza connects Brazilian and Italian influences through the Oriundi tasting menu. Michelin describes an illustrated narrative accompanying the courses, with drawings by the chef. It is an option to investigate if the cultural exchange interests you as much as the technical cooking. Ask about the current menu before booking rather than expecting dishes photographed during a previous season.
At Tuju, Ivan Ralston works with Brazilian produce and a menu shaped by seasonal conditions. Michelin describes an experience across a three-level building, with the dining room arranged around an open kitchen. Choose it for that seasonal perspective and the importance of the setting to the meal. If stairs or moving between spaces affect your visit, confirm the accessible route directly.
There is no universal winner between the two. Compare dietary accommodation, available dates, menu descriptions and the total cost for your party. If you only have one special evening, book the restaurant that best matches those needs. If you choose both, leave a lighter day between them so each feels like an occasion.
D.O.M.: a different view of Brazilian ingredients
Alex Atala’s D.O.M. offers a tasting menu drawing on ingredients from Brazil’s natural regions. Michelin’s current profile also identifies a vegetarian version. That makes it worth asking about if your group needs different menu formats, although individual allergies and restrictions still require direct confirmation.
Be explicit about what you can eat. A vegetarian menu does not establish that a restaurant can accommodate every allergy, vegan request or cross-contact concern. Send the details before a deposit and keep the written response with the reservation. A menu’s ingredient-led concept is most rewarding when everyone at the table knows what sort of experience they are choosing.
Jiquitaia and the role of a Bib Gourmand meal
Jiquitaia, led by Marcelo Corrêa Bastos, focuses on Brazilian home-style food in a 1950s house. Michelin describes a weekday set lunch alongside a shorter menu and highlights the restaurant’s cachaça selection. Check current lunch arrangements if you want a more flexible daytime meal instead of another extended tasting dinner.
Bib Gourmand and Michelin stars are separate distinctions. Use the actual menu to judge value for your trip: drinks, service, extras and transport can change the total. A practical food itinerary mixes formats rather than trying to fill every meal with the same type of booking.
Where to stay for a São Paulo restaurant weekend
Put the four addresses on your map alongside your hotel options before choosing a base. Compare accommodation in the Jardins and Pinheiros areas with the journeys required by your confirmed reservations, rather than assuming that a general “central” description means easy access to every dinner. Choose an exact property and route, not just a neighborhood name.
A hotel that suits your museums, shops or work commitments may be a better overall base even if one restaurant needs a longer journey. Ask about transport for your actual reservation time. Build in a margin and avoid promising yourself a fixed cross-city journey time; the meal should not start with a rushed transfer.
A three-day itinerary built around one great reservation
Arrival day: keep your first meal flexible. A delayed flight or a slow transfer is a poor match for a strict, prepaid start time. Full day: arrange daytime plans near your chosen hotel or dinner route, keep lunch modest, and leave room to rest before the main reservation. Departure day: consider a shorter meal only if the opening hours and airport buffer comfortably allow it.
For a longer stay, add a contrasting restaurant on another day. This outline does not imply that the restaurants operate daily. Secure the booking first, then assign the surrounding activities.
Christmas and New Year reservations
Regular opening hours do not confirm service on December 24, 25 or 31, or January 1. Ask for the exact holiday menu, price, deposit and cancellation terms. Confirm whether the usual tasting menu applies or a special service replaces it. This guide does not claim that any of these restaurants is open for a particular holiday meal.
For a celebration, include the occasion in the reservation and ask what the restaurant can actually provide. Do not assume decorations, a cake, a private table or a midnight program are included. Keep the evening’s other plans flexible until you have a confirmed start and an expected meal duration.
