Mendoza Winery Lunch Itinerary: Casa Vigil, Riccitelli and a City Dinner

A Mendoza food trip works best with one destination meal per day. This itinerary compares Casa Vigil in Chachingo, the Riccitelli experience in Luján de Cuyo and a separate city dinner at Azafrán. Casa Vigil: make Chachingo the main stop
Casa Vigil is listed at Videla Aranda 7008. Michelin describes Iván Azar’s seasonal cooking, an executive lunch and longer dinner menus at Alejandro Vigil’s property. Ask which experience your reservation includes and whether a vineyard visit precedes the meal. A restaurant table does not automatically include every estate tasting.
Riccitelli: reserve the complete experience
Riccitelli Bistró is at Callejón de La Reta 750. Its official website describes a six-course Mendoza menu with a winery visit starting at 12:30, Monday through Saturday. This is a published format, not guaranteed availability. Confirm your date, dietary arrangements and total price. Vegetable-led cooking does not mean every menu is vegetarian.
Azafrán: save another evening for the city
Azafrán, at Sarmiento 765, offers Sebastián Weigandt’s modern regional cooking. Its location makes a special dinner possible without another winery excursion. Put it on a different day from a long paired lunch if you want to arrive with an appetite. Ask about current menus rather than relying on an older course count.
A three-day plan
Arrival day: settle in and keep the first meal flexible. Avoid a strict prepaid start that depends on an on-time flight. Full day: choose Casa Vigil or Riccitelli as the main outing, confirming pickup and return transport. Third day: explore the other area only if opening days and onward travel allow it; otherwise choose a relaxed local meal.
Do not fit both destination lunches into one day. Ask how long the complete visit lasts, including the tour. If you plan to taste wine, arrange a driver or another sober transport option and confirm the return before setting off.
City hotel or vineyard stay?
Mendoza city suits a plan with evening dining choices and outings in different directions. A property in Maipú or Luján de Cuyo may suit a slower visit centered on nearby wineries. Compare exact addresses rather than the broad label Mendoza. A Uco Valley lodge is a different itinerary choice; check the journey to these reservations before booking.
Compare room, transfers, meals and pairings as one budget. Ask whether the hotel arranges transport, but confirm price and timing instead of assuming it is included. For December 24, 25 or 31 and January 1, obtain written confirmation of opening, menu and cancellation terms. No venue here is confirmed open for a holiday service.
