Michelin Restaurants in Buenos Aires: How to Choose, Book and Plan Your Stay

Choosing a Michelin restaurant in Buenos Aires starts with the evening you want: Argentine beef and wine, a creative tasting menu, seafood, or contemporary Korean cooking. Use this city guide to compare the restaurants, decide between Palermo and Recoleta, and build a dining trip that works around your reservations.
Selection checked October 27, 2026. Michelin’s current starred Buenos Aires selection includes Aramburu, Don Julio, Trescha, Crizia and Han. Holiday opening dates and prices must be confirmed directly; inclusion in the Guide does not establish Christmas or New Year availability.
Buenos Aires Michelin restaurants at a glance

| Don Julio | One star | Argentine beef and wine in Palermo | Book before fixing the day’s route |
| Trescha | One star | Modern cooking at a chef’s counter | Confirm the current menu and dietary options |
| Crizia | One star | Seafood-focused dining | Compare tasting and à la carte choices |
| Han | One star | Contemporary Korean cooking in Villa Crespo | Choose the menu format when booking |
Aramburu or Don Julio?
Aramburu is the two-star choice when dinner is the main event. Its Recoleta setting makes it a logical match for a day based in that neighborhood. Don Julio, at Guatemala 4699, offers a different focus: the parrilla tradition and Argentine wine. Michelin notes the difficulty of securing a table, so make the reservation before committing the surrounding evening. Our Don Julio dining guide gives more context for that choice.
Crizia broadens the trip beyond steak with an Atlantic seafood focus. Michelin describes tasting-menu and à la carte routes; confirm what is available for your visit. Han, at Vera 966, offers contemporary Korean tasting menus in Villa Crespo. Trescha is another option for travelers interested in modern cooking and a counter experience. The same number of stars does not make these interchangeable meals. Choose by cuisine, format and the preferences of everyone at your table.
Palermo vs Recoleta: where to stay for a dining trip
Start with a map of your confirmed bookings. A hotel advertised as being in Palermo may still require transport to the restaurant. Recoleta is a practical choice when Aramburu anchors the evening; a Palermo base may suit a plan centered on Don Julio. Treat Villa Crespo as its own stop when considering Han rather than assuming every meal fits into one walkable neighborhood.
Compare the whole stay: your airport transfer, daytime plans, room comfort and journey home after dinner. For a two- or three-night trip, pick a convenient base and arrange transport for the outlying meal. For a longer visit, one reservation need not determine the location of every night’s accommodation. Check the exact entrance address in your confirmation, particularly when using a driver.
How to book without surprises
Use the restaurant’s own website linked from its official Michelin listing. Compare the menu price with the full expected bill. Pairings, additional courses, service and deposits can affect the total, and a quoted amount should be checked for currency and whether it applies per person. Save your confirmation and cancellation deadline somewhere accessible during the trip.
- Explain allergies and dietary restrictions before paying. Ask what substitutions the kitchen can provide.
- For children, confirm age policies, menu requirements and expected meal duration.
- For solo dining, ask about counter seating and whether the same menu or minimum spend applies.
- Confirm the arrival time and what happens if a flight or transfer delays you.
- Release reservations you no longer need once your preferred booking is confirmed.
Christmas and New Year dining in Buenos Aires
Do not assume normal opening hours apply on December 24, 25 or 31, or January 1. Ask the restaurant to confirm the date, service time, menu, total price and cancellation terms in writing. A regular booking calendar may not yet show a holiday program. This guide recommends restaurants to investigate; it does not identify any of them as confirmed open for a holiday service.
If a festive dinner is essential, settle that booking before arranging the rest of the evening. Ask your accommodation about transport for your exact return time. Leave flexibility around the meal instead of adding another timed activity immediately afterward. If you cannot secure your first choice, select an alternative by cuisine and location rather than paying for an unsuitable experience simply because it carries a distinction.
A three-day food itinerary
Day one: settle into your neighborhood and keep the first meal flexible, particularly after a flight. Day two: make the priority restaurant the anchor, with time to rest beforehand. Day three: choose a contrasting meal, such as seafood after a parrilla, instead of automatically booking another long tasting menu. This is an itinerary framework, not a statement that a particular restaurant opens every day.
Are all Michelin restaurants starred?
No. Stars, Bib Gourmand recognition and inclusion in the selection are different distinctions. A star is not a fixed price or a guarantee that a meal fits every budget. Compare actual menus rather than assuming every Michelin-listed restaurant is starred. A balanced food trip can pair one special reservation with simpler meals and leave money for the rest of Buenos Aires.
