Mexico’s 2026 stars in numbers
The 2026 Michelin Guide Mexico counts 29 starred restaurants: two with two stars and 27 with one. Seven stars are new, as the Guide added Jalisco and Yucatán to its coverage. Mexico City leads with 11 starred restaurants — see our Mexico City list.
Baja California and Los Cabos
Five one-star restaurants sit in Baja California: Animalón, Conchas de Piedra and Damiana in the Valle de Guadalupe, Lunario in El Porvenir and Olivea Farm to Table in Ensenada. In Baja California Sur, Cocina de Autor Los Cabos holds a star.
Jalisco: two new stars
Guadalajara joined the Guide in 2026 with two one-star restaurants: Alcalde, Francisco Ruano’s tasting-menu restaurant, and Xokol, Xrysw Ruelas and Óscar Segundo’s corn-centered kitchen, which also received a Green Star.
Oaxaca, Yucatán and the Caribbean
Oaxaca has two stars: Levadura de Olla and Los Danzantes. Yucatán received three new stars — Huniik, La Barra de Huniik and Ixi’im in Chocholá. On the Riviera Maya, Cocina de Autor Riviera Maya, HA’ and Le Chique each hold one star.
Monterrey and beyond
