A small vial can bring a place back more than another bottle on the shelf.
Latin American perfume discovery sets offer a way to compare houses before committing to a signature scent. The useful question is not which box looks most luxurious, but which format lets you try the fragrances you actually want.
This is a researched buying guide, not a personal wear test. Official pages were checked on October 21, 2026; several sets were unavailable, so treat the links as places to verify stock rather than promises of immediate delivery.
Choose the sampling route before the brand
Start with your delivery country and whether you want several scents or repeated wears of one. A beautifully packaged set is poor value if it cannot reach you, duplicates samples you own or includes a bottle you have not chosen.
- For breadth: compare the scent list and the number of different fragrances.
- For repeat testing: compare vial volume and spray versus dropper format.
Four official discovery-set pages to compare
Xinú: the Collection Kit lists five 4.5 ml droppers and paper blotters. Its US storefront showed out of stock when checked. Follow its regional-store links before planning a Mexico purchase.
Arquiste: Discovery Envelope Sets list 1.5 ml sprayers in fixed selections. The page showed sold out and states continental-US shipping only. This Mexican-founded house operates internationally; heritage does not imply local delivery everywhere.
Frassaï: its Discovery Set lists eleven 2 ml spray vials and blotters, but showed unavailable. Check the current collection rather than assuming that every newly released fragrance is included.
Amyi: Experiência Amyi combines six 10 ml sprays with an online learning journey. Compare Básica with Premium carefully: the latter also includes a full bottle. Confirm the current package and delivery area.
Small spray, dropper or travel size?
These formats answer different questions. A small spray helps compare a range; a larger mini gives more room to revisit a favourite. A dropper requires a different application method, so do not compare the number of applications as if every vial worked alike.
A travel size of one fragrance is not automatically a discovery set. Body-care travel kits, room scents and perfume oils also belong to different categories; read the product description instead of choosing by a familiar scent name alone.
Give each sample its own space
Make a short list before opening everything. Write the name, concentration and date on your notes, then record your own impressions in plain language: crisp, powdery, smoky, too sweet or something you want to revisit.
Begin with the supplied blotters where included. If you choose to wear a sample, follow its instructions and compare it again later rather than making a decision from the first impression alone.
Check the whole purchase, not just the box price
Compare the final checkout currency, shipping, taxes and the actual quantity you will use. Read any bottle-credit terms separately: a credit tied to a particular bottle size is different from money back, and an unavailable set cannot be assumed to include a current promotion.
Check whether the selection is fixed and whether samples can be returned. Arquiste explicitly describes its discovery sets as non-returnable; do not generalize one shop’s policy to another. Ask the seller when the answer is unclear.
If stock is missing, a confirmed boutique appointment or authorized stockist may be a better next step than a similar-looking marketplace listing. Use the brand’s own directory to establish that relationship before buying.
Bring the decision into your trip
Avoid sending a time-sensitive parcel to a hotel without confirming that the property accepts it and that delivery fits your stay. Keep the original labels, protect the vials and check the applicable transport rules with your carrier before packing.
Questions before choosing a discovery set
Is a discovery set cheaper than a bottle?
It usually reduces the initial commitment, but judge value by the selection and amount you will use. A smaller total price is not proof of a better purchase.
Can I buy every set from any country?
No. Regional stores and fragrance-shipping restrictions differ. Check the specific storefront and delivery address; the official links above do not guarantee worldwide availability.
Should I order the full bottle immediately?
Leave time to revisit your favourite. A useful discovery purchase helps you decide whether you want a bottle at all, not simply which bottle to buy fastest.
