Lunch inside a pyramid
The Catena Zapata winery in Agrelo is one of Mendoza’s landmarks, its building inspired by a Maya pyramid and set against the Andes. Angélica Cocina Maestra, the restaurant inside, holds one Michelin star in the 2026 Michelin Guide Argentina. Chefs Josefina Diana and Juan Manuel Feijoo present the flavors of Mendoza from a modern perspective.
“Wine first”
The kitchen works from a “wine first” idea: dishes are conceived around the wines rather than the other way round. Michelin notes that guests begin with a personalized tour of the winery and a vermouth in the distillery room before sitting down to a multi-course menu of Mendoza ingredients. The inspectors singled out the appetizers and a course of trout with carrot and tomato.
A day in Luján de Cuyo
