MN Santa Inés holds a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Argentina, the distinction for good cooking at good value. It is tucked away in La Paternal, between train tracks and a cemetery, in a former industrial bakery: the old oven is still on view and kneading tables have become dining tables.
Jazmín Marturet’s cooking
Chef Jazmín Marturet trained in Buenos Aires and cooked in Mexico, the United States and Pinamar before opening her own place. Michelin describes a short, frequently changing menu of eclectic dishes shaped by her love of spices and the bold flavors she met on her travels. The Buenos Aires Herald reports that the menu changes every five weeks and always includes something criollo, a classic, an Asian dish, a vegan dish and something spicy — plus a pavlova for dessert.
Bread, drinks and the house carafe
Breads, pastries and drinks are made in-house. Try the pink carafe of rosé with grapefruit, raspberry and pepper — and expect acidity, the chef’s signature, to run through the plates.
