Agua by Agua Bendita in Cartagena
Romantic resortwear with Colombian soul — embroidered swimwear, botanical prints, and a flagship inside the Centro Histórico’s coral walls.
Cartagena dresses in color before breakfast. Bougainvillea spills over ochre walls, carved balconies cast lace-like shadows, and the Caribbean turns every white cotton dress into a small event. In the Centro Histórico, Agua by Agua Bendita translates that atmosphere into embroidered swimwear and romantic resort pieces made for days that begin by the pool and end beneath chandeliers.
The Colombian house has built a distinctive universe from Latin American flora, hand-drawn prints and patient artisan detail. Its Cartagena flagship, set on Calle de la Iglesia, feels especially meaningful: a warm-weather wardrobe shown inside the architecture and light that make it come alive.
A Fashion Stroll Through Cartagena
Begin inside the walled city, where coral façades and shaded courtyards turn a shopping walk into visual theater. Agua’s flagship sits at Calle de la Iglesia 35-76, close enough to galleries, restaurants and the sea breeze to anchor an unhurried afternoon. The brand describes the store as an ode to warm weather and Cartagena’s captivating historic architecture.
Pair the visit with our Silvia Tcherassi guide to Cartagena’s Caribbean elegance. Together, the two houses reveal different facets of Colombian resort style: one polished and architectural, the other lush with embroidery, botanical fantasy and the romance of a holiday wardrobe.
The Agua by Agua Bendita Aesthetic
Agua by Agua Bendita defines its world through a fusion of fabrics and textures inspired by Latin America. Intricate embroidery and hand-illustrated motifs give the collections their unmistakable richness, while the silhouettes remain wearable: bikinis, one-pieces, pareos, airy shirts and dresses that travel naturally from beach to city.
Craft is not presented as an afterthought. The house’s production story centers skilled hands, from hand-drawn patterns to delicate embroidery, and describes each stage as an expression of time, care and intention. That philosophy gives even the most playful print a sense of substance.
The current Isleña collection continues the dialogue between place and dress, while earlier stories such as Aurora drew on an imagined journey through Colombia’s valleys, flora and fauna. Aurora featured soft pastels, three-dimensional butterflies—including the Colombian mariposa blanca—and the coffer motifs that have appeared in Agua’s language since its earliest collection.
Pieces to Notice
The Embroidered One-Piece
Choose a clean silhouette with concentrated handwork. Worn under a linen trouser or sweeping skirt, it becomes a polished bodysuit after the beach.
The Pareo
One of the smartest pieces in a warm-weather suitcase. Tie it as a skirt for lunch, drape it over the shoulders at sunset, or use it to bring a vivid print into a neutral capsule.
The Botanical Midi
Agua’s dresses deliver destination drama without feeling costume-like. Look for embroidered or embellished details placed to frame the body, rather than overwhelm it.
The Silk Scarf
A low-volume, high-impact souvenir. Knot it around a raffia bag, wear it as a headscarf on a boat day, or soften a tailored white shirt for dinner.
“In Cartagena, embroidery isn’t decoration — it’s a passport-ready point of view.”
The Jet Set LatAM Styling Edit
Let Cartagena’s palette do the work: papaya, bougainvillea pink, sea-glass green and sun-washed ivory. Balance an embroidered Agua piece with quiet accessories—a slim leather sandal, a sculptural gold earring and a woven clutch. The mood should feel collected, not coordinated.
For day, style a printed swimsuit beneath an oversized linen shirt with tailored shorts. At golden hour, exchange the shorts for a fluid skirt and add a bold cuff. For dinner inside the walls, a botanical midi needs little beyond luminous skin, a small bag and shoes comfortable enough for cobblestones.

How to Visit and Shop
The official store directory lists the Cartagena flagship at Calle de la Iglesia 35-76 in the Centro Histórico, open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Hours can change, so confirm directly before setting out. The brand also lists boutiques in Bogotá and Medellín and offers international online shopping.
Shop with your itinerary in mind. Try swim pieces early enough to assess support and movement, then add one layer that can cross into the city. If embroidery is the deciding detail, inspect placement and texture in person.
Caribbean Romance, Made in Colombia
Agua by Agua Bendita understands the emotional side of resort dressing: the desire to feel lighter, brighter and slightly transformed. In Cartagena, its embroidery and tropical imagination never feel imported. They belong to the climate, the color and the confidence of the city—a wardrobe with Colombian soul and a passport-ready point of view.
