Estudio Persona is the studio of Uruguayan designers Emiliana Gonzalez and Jessie Young, working together in Los Angeles since 2015. Their official introduction emphasizes bold silhouettes, neutral tones, raw materials and the local manufacturing community. Their work expands our radar beyond clothes into the objects and spaces that shape everyday life.

Look at the outline first

Before asking whether a chair matches a room, study its profile. Notice the relation between the seat, back and legs, then consider how the object reads from across the space. A restrained palette can make proportion more visible; it does not make the design invisible. Use the collection as an exercise in looking before deciding what to own.

Scale is a practical form of taste

Measure your room, doorways and the route from the entrance before ordering a substantial object. Mark the proposed footprint on the floor and live around it for a day. Check the seat height against your table and how much clearance remains when someone sits down. A sculptural piece still needs to support the routines of the room.
