Carnival in the Rain: Keep a Flexible Version of the Day
Rain does not have to turn an entire trip into a disappointed comparison with its photographs. Create a flexible version of the day before you need it. That might mean a shorter outing, different footwear or an indoor reservation you would enjoy even if the weather stayed clear.
Check what changes
An event’s response to weather is the organizer’s decision. Read current notices rather than assuming cancellation, postponement or a refund. Keep the actual terms of your booking available. If you are unsure about entry conditions, ask directly. A social post about another event or another year is not a reliable answer.
Protect the useful things
Plan how to keep your phone, ticket and essential belongings usable. Choose a lightweight layer you have already tested, subject to the venue’s rules. Avoid accessories that make movement awkward or obstruct the view around you. Then decide what would make you leave early. Flexibility works best when everyone knows the alternative before the first change in weather.
