Fernando’s Kaffee: start with breakfast in mind
Fernando’s Kaffee describes itself as a coffee roastery, café and restaurant. Its menu page highlights a desayuno típico and sweet crêpes with chocolate and pepitoria spread. Those details give you a concrete reason to consider it if you want a breakfast-led start, rather than simply another coffee on the way somewhere else.
Read the current menu before choosing what to order. If breakfast will be the main meal of your morning, leave room to enjoy it. If you only want coffee, keep lunch as a separate decision instead of assuming a café visit will cover it.
Café Condesa: a second option to compare
Café Condesa describes a central setting and food prepared on site; its own history dates its Antigua presence to 1993. Add it to your shortlist when you want a sit-down café stop, and look at its current offering before deciding whether that means breakfast, lunch or coffee with something small.
Compare the two cafés against your actual route. You can spread them over two mornings, choose just one, or return to the place you enjoyed. A useful itinerary leaves space for a favorite instead of requiring a new venue at every meal.
Make lunch a separate decision
Before heading out, decide whether lunch is likely to be a substantial break or a lighter stop. Use current menus to make that choice. A label such as café or restaurant is less helpful than knowing whether the available food suits your group that day.
Ask directly about dietary requirements, ingredients and preparation when those matter. This shortlist does not establish allergen handling, substitutions or current availability. It also avoids quoting prices and opening hours that can change between planning and arrival.
A simple two-morning plan
- First morning: choose one café for breakfast, then continue with your city walk.
- First afternoon: choose lunch around your location and appetite, rather than a rigid food checklist.
- Second morning: try the other café if it fits, or return to your favorite.
- Keep a special dinner separate from an already full afternoon of eating.
Use our three-day Antigua itinerary to connect meals with the rest of your stay. The Antigua first-timer’s guide covers the broader destination; choose the sightseeing first, then place the café stop where it makes the day easier.
For a short visit, fewer commitments often make a better plan. Save the cafés, check their current service details before you go, and keep a backup in mind if your first choice does not work that day.
