Up a dirt road in the foothills above San José del Cabo, Flora Farms is the dinner everyone in Los Cabos tells you to book. It’s a working organic farm with a restaurant in the middle of it: long tables under string lights, a wood-fired kitchen and vegetables harvested a few steps from your plate.

Why it’s special

Flora Farms helped define farm-to-table dining in Baja. The menu follows the harvest, so it changes with the seasons, and the setting, with gardens, a farm shop and a cocktail bar among the beds, makes the evening feel like a party at a friend’s ranch.

What to order

Start with a garden cocktail at the Farm Bar, then order whatever the kitchen is pulling from the fields: wood-fired pizzas, salads that taste like they were picked an hour ago (they were) and farm-raised meats. Save room for dessert, and ask your server what’s best that week.

How to book

Reserve well ahead, especially for dinner from November to April. Brunch is a more relaxed way to see the farm in daylight. Book a taxi or private driver both ways: the farm sits in the countryside outside town.
