Jet Set LatAM · Hotel Review
Most Los Cabos hotels sell you a pool and a view. Hotel El Ganzo sells you a scene: an artist-in-residence program, a recording studio tucked beneath the lobby, murals and installations in the corridors and a rooftop pool where musicians who recorded downstairs end up at sunset. It sits by the marina in San José del Cabo, the calmer, more cultured half of the Cape.
This Hotel El Ganzo review covers the rooms, the atmosphere and who will love it, plus how it fits into a wider Los Cabos trip.
Art you can sleep in
El Ganzo was built around creativity. Visiting artists and musicians stay, make work and leave something behind, so the hotel keeps changing: a new mural, a guest DJ set, a print in the stairwell. If you want a hotel with a point of view rather than a resort with a brochure, this is it.
The rooftop and the beach
The rooftop infinity pool looks over the marina and the Sea of Cortez, and it is the social heart of the hotel from late afternoon. The hotel also runs a beach club nearby, which is useful because many Los Cabos beaches have rough surf; ask the front desk which beaches are swimmable during your stay.
Choosing your room
Rooms are contemporary and pared back, with terraces or balconies in many categories. Ask for a higher floor with a sea or marina view, and if you’re a light sleeper, mention it when you book: weekend evenings on the roof can be lively. Suites with private terraces are worth the upgrade for longer stays.
Who it suits
Creative couples, solo travelers who like a social bar, and anyone who’d rather spend an evening at the San José del Cabo Art Walk than at a swim-up bar. Families wanting kids’ clubs and multiple pools will be happier on the Corridor.
