Jet Set LatAM · 2027 Travel Trends
Here’s a stat from Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2027 report that made me sit up: searches for São Paulo as a bachelor or bachelorette destination rose 93%, one of the biggest jumps worldwide. The report also flags the rise of joint celebrations — both sides of the wedding party on one trip (Skyscanner Brazil calls it the Lovecation).
Which, for the record, means twice the people to coordinate and twice the people to blame. Love that for you.
São Paulo makes sense: it’s Latin America’s biggest city, a world-class food capital, a shopping heavyweight and a place where nobody goes to bed before 2 a.m. Here’s how to do a group celebration there with style.
Where to stay
Base the group in Jardins or Itaim Bibi for walkable dinners, shopping and nightlife. For the full splurge, São Paulo has some genuinely spectacular hotels: Rosewood São Paulo in the restored Cidade Matarazzo complex, Palácio Tangará beside a forested park, and the boat-shaped Hotel Unique, whose rooftop bar is a São Paulo institution.
Our São Paulo guide covers more boutique options. For bigger groups, a serviced apartment or two adjoining suites keeps everyone together.
The big dinner
São Paulo’s restaurant scene is one of the best in the world. Book one headline night — D.O.M., chef Alex Atala’s temple to Brazilian ingredients, or A Casa do Porco, the celebrated pork-focused spot downtown, which is fun, loud and perfect for groups — and make the rest relaxed: churrascaria lunches, Japanese in Liberdade and late-night pastel at a boteco.
The night out
Start at a rooftop for sunset (the skyline at golden hour is gorgeous), move to the bars of Vila Madalena or Pinheiros, and know that clubs get going very late. Arrange private transport for the group — it’s the single best safety and sanity decision you’ll make.
The shopping day
Rua Oscar Freire in Jardins is Brazil’s designer street: look for homegrown labels like Osklen and Farm Rio, beachwear, and Brazilian jewelry. Then wander Beco do Batman‘s street art for the group photos.
A sample weekend
- Friday: arrive, check in, rooftop sunset, casual dinner in Jardins.
- Saturday: slow brunch, Oscar Freire shopping, spa or pool afternoon, headline dinner, night out.
- Sunday: Ibirapuera Park walk, long recovery lunch, flights home (or onward to the beach).
Group-trip rules that save friendships
- One planner, one budget. Agree costs up front.
- Private transfers. The city is huge and traffic is real.
- Book dinners early. Top tables need weeks for big groups.
- Split costs daily with an app. Trust me.
What to pack
- Leather loafers: dinner to rooftop to 3 a.m.
- Packing cubes: one per themed outfit, obviously
