Jet Set LatAM · Nightlife Guide
Cali calls itself the world capital of salsa, and after one night out you’ll believe it. Dancers here move faster and flashier than anywhere else, and the city’s salsotecas range from tiny vinyl bars to packed dance halls. You don’t need to be good; you just need to go.
Here are the best salsa clubs in Cali and how to plan your night.
La Topa Tolondra
The friendliest place to start. Locals and travelers mix on a crowded floor, the music is classic salsa caleña and nobody minds beginners. It’s busiest from mid-week on.
Zaperoco
An old-school bar devoted to salsa on vinyl, with a loyal crowd of serious dancers. Come to watch as much as to dance, and soak up the atmosphere.
Juanchito
Across the Cauca River, Juanchito is Cali’s legendary salsa district, with big clubs that go late on weekends. Go with a group and take a registered taxi there and back.
