The Fall Jet Set Edit: Latin Designers I’m Packing This Season

Fall is a strange season when you live the way I do. Half of Latin America is heading into spring, the other half is pretending it isn’t still 30 degrees, and I’m standing in front of my suitcase at midnight trying to decide whether a wool bolero counts as a “travel essential.” (It does. We’ll get there.)
So this year I did the sensible thing — I stopped fighting it and built one edit that works from Bogotá to Buenos Aires to a very long dinner in Cartagena. Every piece is from a Latin American designer I keep coming back to, season after season. No filler. No “trending” mystery brands. Just the good stuff.
Johanna Ortiz: the one I’d pack first
If you’ve been here longer than five minutes, you know. Johanna Ortiz is Colombia’s answer to the question “what if a dress could also be a mood?” For fall, I’m leaning into her deeper prints and the pieces that transition — the Weaving Weves Dress for travel days, the Ancient Peru Maxi for the dinner you’ll talk about for years, and the Speed Queen Pants for when I need to look put-together at 7am in an airport. Which is… always.

Oscar was born in Santo Domingo, and you can feel the Caribbean in everything the house still does — the florals, the drama, the refusal to be understated. The Wool-Blend Bolero is my answer to every chilly rooftop. The Nano O Handle Bag is small enough to be ridiculous and cute enough that I don’t care. And for the big night out, the Crystal Medallion Cocktail Dress does all the talking so you don’t have to.

Patricia Bonaldi’s hand-beaded pieces come out of São Paulo, and they’re the reason my carry-on is always slightly over the weight limit. The Chiffon Wonderland Pant is the most elegant thing I own that still lets me eat dessert.
FARM Rio: Rio energy, fall edition
FARM Rio in fall is a leather jacket with hearts on it, and honestly? Yes. Pair the Richelieu jacket with the printed cotton midi and you have my entire personality in two pieces.
Agua by Agua Bendita: Medellín, handmade
Agua by Agua Bendita is made by artisans in Medellín, and the Lima maxi dresses are what I reach for when the forecast says “warm evening” and my calendar says “long dinner.” One in black, one in print — because choosing is overrated.
